Apatite is a more unusual gemstone. Colour usually varies between shades of blues and greens. Major sources for gem apatite are Brazil, Burma, and Mexico with smaller sources being Canada, Czech Republic, Germany, India, Madagascar, Mozambique, Norway, South Africa, Spain, Sri Lanka, and the United States.
A relatively soft stone, it is best suited for earrings and occasionally necklaces/pendants where it is unlikely to be knocked.
