Hello, I’m Annette Piper – a professionally qualified gemmologist, certified pearl specialist,
and artisan jewellery designer based in the Central Tablelands of NSW, Australia.
With over three decades of experience working with natural gemstones and pearls, I create
handcrafted jewellery for women who want to feel and look truly special.
MY QUALIFICATIONS
My jewellery is underpinned by genuine expertise:
– Diploma of Gemmology – Gemmological Association of Australia (1986, Reg. No. 2345)
– Certified Pearl Specialist – Cultured Pearl Association of America Inc. (2018)

professionally identified and verified. In a market flooded with synthetic, imitation and
misnamed stones, that matters.

MY INSPIRATION
I grew up travelling the world with my adventurous parents – wandering the bustling medinas
and mountain villages of Morocco, exploring the ancient ruins of Greece, soaking up
history-rich towns across Europe, discovering the whimsy of the Irish countryside, and
roaming the wild, deserted stretches of the Australian coast.
That love of exotic, ancient and storied places never left me, and you’ll find it woven
throughout my jewellery collections.
I’m also deeply inspired by the glamour and elegance of the 1950s – a time when women
dressed up to go to town and an outfit always featured jewellery. I love bringing a touch
of that timeless, old-world glamour to modern women.
And sometimes? The gemstones themselves lead the way. Sourced from places as far-flung as
Russia, the Dominican Republic, Africa, Brazil, Afghanistan, Spain and Finland, each stone
carries its own story – and that story often becomes part of the jewellery itself.
WHERE I WORK
When I’m not helping out on our beef cattle farm – perched atop the Great Dividing Range
in NSW, where I live with my husband (an aviator-farmer who’d rather be flying!), our
three adult children (two of whom work with me), our “working” dog Lucky (he mostly just rides on the ute) and our husky Akela (who lives for frosty winter days and running fast) – I escape to my studio.
Sometimes it’s a place of calm. Sometimes it’s a place of creative frenzy. Always, it’s
where beautiful jewellery is made.
