There are a few different methods to find out your ideal bangle size When working out which bangle size is correct, you must keep in mind getting the bangle over your hand is the key factor, not wrist size.
The following is probably the best method for measuring if you don’t already have a bangle the right size that you can measure.
You will need a piece of string, a marker and a ruler. Or a piece of a string, a ruler and a helper!
Take a loose piece of string and loop it around the largest part of your hand. Try to make your hand as small as possible by holding your thumb and your little finger together.
Wrap the string firmly around your hand. Mark where the string meets to keep track of the circumference of your hand. ( I have used a clip as I was one handed trying to take the photo!)
Lay the string flat over a ruler, measuring the marked length of the string. Then use the guide below. (My hand measures 180mm so the best for me would be a 57mm size.)
(Approximate) String Length | Recommended Bangle Size |
160mm | 51mm |
165mm | 52 to 53mm |
170mm | 54 to 55mm |
175mm | 56mm |
180mm | 57mm |
185mm | 58 to 59mm |
190mm | 59 to 60mm |
200mm | 61 to 63mm |
205mm | 65mm |
210mm | 66 to 67mm |
220mm | 70mm |
230mm | 72mm |
Using a Bangle That You Already Have
The easiest method it to measure the inside diameter of a bangle you already have that fits well.
Simply take out a ruler and measure from one point directly across to another point within the inside of the bangle. This measure is the best size for you. Eg. You can see the bangle here measures approximately 60mm.
