Sose – baroque pearl and amethyst necklace [AP10-N651]
If you frequent my pages here you will know I love pearls. And I can’t resist the more unusual shapes and styles. Each pearl in this piece is a gleaming, generous size. Actually, verging on the gargantuan may be more of an apt description! The colour of the freshwater pearls range from peach to pink to purple tones and are the natural colour of the pearls, straight from the shell.
Dark purple, faceted African amethyst and a ‘puzzle’ clasp that looks very much like the Chanel logo, that is half matte and half shiny, finishes the necklace.
The result is unlike anything you would see anywhere else – wear it with some of your sedate career pieces to bring intrigue or wear it with a sundress for cocktails on the patio. It deserves to be worn with abandon!
At approximately 19 ¾ inches / 50cm in length it’s a comfortable length for most people but if you prefer it shorter let me know.
A piece with such majesty yet so earthy led to me naming it Sose after the prophetic Oreiad nymph who was loved by the god Hermes in Greek mythology.
