Orseis – bronze freshwater pearl and 12ct goldfill necklace [AP10-N705]
Everyone loves pearls – even if they say they don’t! You see, they’re thinking of the standard white strand of pearls, but if you’ve been peeking around here for a while you’ll see that while I love big fat luscious white pearls too, I adore the more unusual pearls – in shape and colour!
This necklace is a prime example – the pearls are definitely unconventional!
These gorgeous lustrous shapes are freshwater cultured pearls – but more of a wonderful accident. With no nucleus they’re referred to as “keshi’s” and are solid nacre, coming in wonderful, extraordinary shapes.
A glorious rich bronze colour (treated), they are given a little grounding by groups of these pearls being separated by fine, goldfill twirls.
Light and comfortable this necklace is very easy to wear – just toss it on and go! For extra versatility it has an extension chain, so wear it anywhere between 20 and 22 inches / 51-56cm.
With its rich colour and classic proportions, this necklace has been named Orseis after the nymph wife of Hellen, the ancestral King of all the Hellenes (Greeks).
